Standard Offer Service rate update

Total residential Standard Offer Service (SOS) rate for July: $0.086093 per
kilowatt-hour (kWh).

• Summer Residential Energy Charge: $0.0949 per kWh
• July Residential Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): ($0.008807) per kWh

SMECO’s PCA for July was -9.40 percent of the current average annual base energy.

SMECO must revise its base energy rate if the PCA for three consecutive months is 5 percent more or less than the base energy rate. Since SMECO’s PCA for July was -9.40 percent of the current average annual base energy charge and that is over the trigger level of 5 percent for the third month in a row, SMECO files to reduce the base energy rate. In the filing, the cooperative requests that the adjustment to the base energy rate will be effective for members as of October 1, 2023.
