Youth Tour visits D.C.

In June, four student delegates from SMECO’s service area traveled to the nation’s capital for a week of education, entertainment, and engagement with other teens from across the U.S. for the 2023 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.

The student delegates visited Capitol Hill and met with members of Congress and legislative aids to talk about important current events, in addition to taking fun and educational excursions around the city. The tour concluded with a guided tour of SMECO’s Engineering & Operations Center.
