Are you missing unclaimed funds?

SMECO has uncashed checks that were issued as capital credit refunds to members, as payments to vendors, or as donations to local organizations.

We would like to deliver the money to its rightful owners.

Cold weather directly translates into higher energy usage, which results in higher energy bills. For members who want to save money, small changes can help reduce energy use during cold weather.

Update on 2024 base rate case filing

On May 1, 2024, SMECO filed a request with the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) to increase its Distribution Service base rates. Following the PSC’s full review process, the Public Utility Law Judge overseeing the case released a proposed order, which, as of this Cooperative Review’s printing, is expected to become final as of November 27, 2024.

Members Helping Members

We know that part of being a good neighbor is to lend a hand when needed, and we know our members share this charitable spirit, especially during the holidays.

For people who have fallen on hard times, having enough money to pay past due electric bills can make a big difference in their lives. As a reward for giving, members who sign up by February 15, 2025, to donate will receive a free, long-sleeved t-shirt.

Are you prepared for extreme weather?
