Cooperative volunteers team up to support local children

In October, 25 of your cooperative employees volunteered to assist the Southern Maryland Food Bank with their impactful Snack Sak program. Volunteers assembled more than 350 Saks, which will benefit students in Charles and St. Mary’s counties. This program helps bridge the weekend hunger gap for children who rely on school breakfast and lunch during the week. Each Snack Sak contains ready-to-eat, kid-friendly, nutritious snacks packed discreetly in unmarked bags. The saks are distributed by Southern Maryland Food Bank weekly to 17 participating schools, where staff ensure they reach students in need with care and confidentiality.
