EV charging stations revving up

As of December 2022, SMECO has commissioned 32 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Southern Maryland. With a goal of 60 stations by 2023, SMECO has exceeded the halfway point. The most recent stations were commissioned at Elite Gymnastics in Waldorf, Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center
in Prince Frederick, and Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.

SMECO employees, Brent Morey and Natasha Law, commission a new charging station at Regency Stadium in Waldorf.

By the numbers (as of Sept. 2022): 3,495 Sessions charged; 40,667 kWh charged; 4,067 Gallons of gas saved; 79,664 lbs. of CO2 saved
