Employees donate $58,000 to support local mental health organization
Your cooperative employees raised $58,000 during the SMECO Annual Charity Golf Outing held in September 2023. The money was donated to a local organization that helps people with behavioral health disorders—Cornerstone Southern Maryland.
Why is my bill high?
Bills are based on the amount of electricity you use. When you use more energy, your bill goes up. When it’s cold in the winter and your heating system runs, or when it’s hot in the summer and your air conditioning runs, your bill will be higher.
Prepare to vote
Each year, SMECO conducts an annual members’ meeting for the purpose of electing directors and voting on bylaw changes. As a customer, you are a member and have the right to vote. All ballots are mailed, so it’s important to make sure we have up-to-date contact information for you so that you receive your election materials.
