Standard Offer Service rate update

Total residential Standard Offer Service (SOS) rate for June: $0.124206 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

• Summer Residential Energy Charge: $0.1057 per kWh
• June Residential PCA: $0.018506 per kWh

SMECO’s PCA for June was 17.50% more than the current residential base SOS rate.

SMECO must revise its base energy rate if the PCA for three consecutive months is 5 percent more or less than the base energy rate. The PCA hit the trigger level of 5 percent for the third consecutive month in May, so SMECO was required to file an adjustment to the base energy rate. The filing was made on May 29, 2026. If approved, the adjustment to the base energy rate will go into effect on August 1, 2026.
