Standard Offer Service rate tracker

Total residential Standard Offer Service (SOS) rate for February: $0.092084 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

• Winter Residential Energy Charge: $0.0854 per kWh
• February Residential Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): $0.006684 per kWh

SMECO’s PCA for February was 7.76 percent greater than the current residential base SOS rate.

SMECO must revise its base energy rate if the residential PCA for three consecutive months is 5 percent more or less than the base energy rate. Since SMECO’s PCA for February was over the trigger level of 5 percent for only the second month, SMECO’s base energy rate will remain unchanged at this time.

Correction: The SOS information in the January and February editions of the Cooperative Review newsletter incorrectly reflected the PCA as a credit for the months of November and December. The kWh charge and the percent difference figures were accurate. The trigger for November and December was not met.
