Standard Offer Service rate update
Total residential Standard Offer Service (SOS) rate for October: $0.079010 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
- Winter Residential Energy Charge: $0.0854 per kWh
- October Residential Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): ($0.006390) per kWh
SMECO’s PCA for October was -7.42 percent of the current average annual
base energy.
SMECO must revise its base energy rate if the PCA for three consecutive months is 5 percent more or less than the base energy rate. SMECO filed with the Public Service Commission (PSC) on July 31, 2023, to reduce the base energy rate. The PSC approved the filing and the new base SOS rate became effective October 1, 2023.
