Part of being a good neighbor is lending a hand when needed, and we know our members share this charitable spirit, especially during the holidays. For people who have fallen on hard times, having
enough money to pay past-due electric bills can make a big difference. By contributing to Members Helping Members, you can help your neighbors keep their lights on.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
- Sign up to contribute $1, $5, or $10 on your SMECO bill each month.
- Donations are sent to the Southern Maryland Tri-County Action Committee, which administers the funds to members who seek aid and qualify.
- As a reward for giving, members who sign up for Members Helping Members from November 15, 2025, through February 15, 2026, to donate will receive a free, short-sleeved t-shirt.
Your contribution to Members Helping Members is tax-deductible. You may discontinue your participation at any time.
