Local organizations benefit from SMECO donations

SMECO received a $10,000 contribution from CoBank to award to local organizations that SMECO has supported with matching funds. Each of the following received $2,500: A Community That Shares (ACTS); Patuxent Habitat for Humanity; American Red Cross of the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region; and the Clements Cuties Foundation.

    1. Natalie Cotton, government affairs and community relations director, SMECO; Lezael Rorie, economic services director, SMECO; and Sonja Cox, president and CEO, SMECO, present a check to Keith Andrew Perry, executive director of the American Red Cross of Southern Maryland.
    2. Catherine Shipman, executive director, Patuxent Habitat for Humanity, is presented with a check for $2,500.
    3. Sam Brown, board president, and JoAnn Wurmlinger, secretary, A Community That Shares (ACTS), are presented with a check for $2,500.
