Make your business more efficient today
Southern Maryland businesses are key to their communities. To help your business run as efficiently as possible, it’s important to recognize signs it may need some support. Inefficiencies can be difficult to pinpoint, but there are a couple things to look for.
TOU shifts to winter hours
Time-of-Use (TOU) rates changed to winter hours on October 1.
TOU rates can help you save money if you use less energy during peak times. Choose TOU rates and save by shifting your use of kitchen and laundry appliances, pool pumps, and other equipment to off-peak hours. Weekends and most major holidays are off-peak.

Saving electricity for when it is needed
Electricity must be used at about the same time it is generated unless there is a way to store it. Because electricity moves through the grid almost instantly, grid operators are constantly working to keep the amount entering the system in balance with the amount customers are using.
Standard Offer Service rate update

- Summer Residential Energy Charge: $0.1248 per kWh
