Make your business more efficient today

Southern Maryland businesses are key to their communities. To help your business run as efficiently as possible, it’s important to recognize signs it may need some support. Inefficiencies can be difficult to pinpoint, but there are a couple things to look for.

Heating and cooling systems are crucial in making sure your business is comfortable. If your system runs constantly or longer than usual, it may be working harder than it should. When heating and cooling systems don’t run efficiently, it can cause problems. But when they do, energy costs can be reduced by 30%.

A properly lit business is also an important part of having smooth day-to-day operations. If your business uses a lot of lighting or keeps lights on for extended hours, there may be room for energy-efficient improvements. Switching to LED lighting can help reduce total lighting energy use by up to 90%.

Making your business more energy efficient can seem complicated, but incentives and one-on-one support can help. SMECO works with you to break the process down, answer questions, and move things forward at a comfortable pace, with incentives covering up to 75% of project costs.
