Prepare for colder temperatures with an HVAC tune up
Heating and cooling your home can account for up to 50% of annual energy use, so it’s important to make sure you’re prepared for colder weather. Fortunately, SMECO’s Home Energy Improvement Program offers opportunities to help you prepare your home and save.
Through EmPOWER Maryland, SMECO members are eligible to receive an HVAC tune-up, available at no additional cost. This service can help improve the performance and efficiency of your heating and cooling system. An authorized SMECO contractor will ensure your system is running at optimal condition through a system performance check, an electrical inspection, and more.
Members are also eligible to receive a $100 instant discount on a smart thermostat, plus installation at no additional cost. Smart thermostats learn your temperature preferences and establish a schedule that automatically adjusts to temperatures designed to save you energy. These savings can amount to approximately 8% of your heating and cooling costs.* Plus, you can enjoy the flexibility to control your smart thermostat remotely from your phone.
