Lecture – Maryland Archaeology Month: Updates from the Field

Join Historic St. Mary’s City for an evening lecture celebrating Maryland Archaeology Month. Dr. Travis Parno, HSMC Director of Research and Collections, presents updates on the St. Mary’s Fort site, with new clues regarding one of early Maryland’s first public buildings. Ruth Mitchell, HSMC Manager of Archaeological Services, presents the evolving landscapes of the Mackall and Brome plantations in St. Mary’s City. Also, archaeological evidence of several sites where enslaved individuals lived on the landscape.
