Sew Far, Sew Good!

Learn the importance of sewing skills in early Maryland while practicing three basic stitches still used today. Participants will explore sewing traditions in colonial and Native cultures and create a take-home sewing sampler through hands-on instruction. Ages 8 to 14. Program involves seated outdoor work using burlap, yarn, and blunt plastic needles. Takes place rain or shine and may move indoors if needed. Registration opens May 18.
