Teams of 18 to 22 people race against other teams in 40-foot boats on a 200-meter course on the Patuxent River alongside the Solomons boardwalk. The Solomons Dragon Boat Festival is an annual fundraiser for Southern Maryland Community Resources jSMCR, a local nonprofit that provides events and opportunities for individuals with development differences.
