The primary functions of this position will be providing supervision and coordination of the department’s environmental functions to ensure that SMECO is in compliance with federal, EPA, state and county regulations; responds to hazardous material spills and supervises decontamination efforts, directs the fuel tank inventory, inspection and testing program.
In addition, this position will perform wetland delineation for SMECO projects, produce Forest Stand Delineation and Forest Conservation plans for SMECO projects, develop and support sediment and erosion control plans for transmission projects.
Lastly, this position will monitor and respond as necessary to avian problems, assist and advise the Permits & Contracts Manager in all areas of environmental concern.
