PART TIME

PURPOSE:

We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing Information technology organization at SMECO. In this position, as a current information technology student, you will enhance your educational experience through the relevant work experience in the areas of desktop management, Cybersecurity, IP networks, and virtual desktop environment.

THE JOB FUNCTION INCLUDES:

This list provides a general statement of duties to provide the intern with the opportunity to learn the standards within the industry and the cooperative. This list is not considered to be exhaustive and may be enhanced as processes change. 

A. Assists the IT technicians with Windows Client administration in a network environment. 

B. Assists in IT projects based on SMECO’s IT and Cybersecurity plans. 

C. Provides support to other team members with customer issues and requests using SMECO’s service-desk software. 

D. Assists with monitoring user compliance to safeguard information. 

E. Assists with telecommunications activities associated with contact center. 

F. Observes and assists with virtual desktop management. 

G. Maintain good relations with other departments and coworkers. 

H. Observes all safety rules. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • The student must be enrolled in an accredited information technology program with an in- program status of junior or senior. 
  • Must have a good internet broadband connection for remote access. 
  • Must be a United States Citizen -Must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the job which include, but are not limited to, walking, bending, sitting, lifting and carrying loads averaging 25 pounds. 

Working Conditions:

  • Mostly indoors, onsite with possible remote access 2 days per week.

This position pays $18.00/hr
