Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Technical Analyst for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). With focus on Windows Client administration in a network environment and under moderate supervision, the primary function of this position will be to plan, engineer and evaluate new and existing information technology (IT) network/system projects based on SMECO’s Corporate Plan, the IT Strategic Plan, the Information Security Program, and use specifications. The position will conduct problem resolution of network hardware and software; assesses emerging technologies and develops technical standards for review. Finally, this position will assist with the IT Help Desk, IT Equipment administration and with risk management along with other IT team members.

The starting salary range for this position is $79,100-$102,600. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401k 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in an information technology/computer science related field. Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security +, Microsoft Windows Certified, GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA), CompTIA Security Infrastructure (CSIS) CompTIA Security Analytics (CSAP).

Experience:

Minimum two years’ progressive experience in IT/system administration and support, preferably in a CIP-regulated environment. 

Technical Skills:

 · Knowledge of CIP compliance regulations, standards, and best practices.

· Understanding of patch management practices for IT systems to ensure CIP compliance.

· A+ Certification training

· Strong experience in setting up Windows Workstations

· Experience creating and deploying workstation images using available tools.

· Experience installing and configuring peripherals such as printers, scanners, etc.

· Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

· Knowledge of Systems Management using available IT management tools.

· Some Knowledge as a Windows System Administrator working with Active Directory.

· Strong customer service orientation

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex IT-related challenges.
