Job Description
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Director. The primary functions of this position will be to direct all operations of SMECO warehouses, laydown yards personnel and processes. Direct the critical activities of $25,000,000 inventory level, movement and warehousing to optimize job material and staging, customer service, satisfaction, security of and cost effectiveness for the cooperative productivity. This position will provide direction of the regional warehouse managers as it relates to receiving, storing, maintenance of equipment, training and distributing materials and supplies; maintains material records to ensure the efficient processing of work orders, and purchase orders. Lastly, this position will direct adequate material inventory levels to meet critical business needs; participate in all software system upgrades pertaining to inventory warehousing processes. Work directly with the resources to retrieve data sourcing to ensure inventory level compliance.
This position requires a candidate who is self-motivated, understands financial audit and compliance, demonstrates the value of ethics in regards to work accuracy and willing to review business processes and implement change for improvement. This candidate must also be capable of working with a diverse organization of business units and able to promote unity.
This position requires a two-year college degree or equivalent. Emphasis in business administration, warehouse management, and computer operations preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Excel and keyboarding (typing).
A minimum four years progressive experience in warehousing with emphasis on inventory and supply activities is required.
The starting salary range for this position is $103,100 - $138,800. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401(k) 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
