Business Solutions for 2021

As of December 15, 2020, SMECO’s EmPOWER Maryland Programs are awaiting renewal by the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC). Until funding is approved for 2021, no applications submitted after December 18, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. will be processed. All applications received after this date will be held for processing until after the PSC approves funding.

Not every project that saves energy will fit the mold of one of the existing SMECO Programs. For these type of projects, SMECO will look closely at the energy savings and costs to determine the incentive the customer may receive. Some Custom projects can include, but are not limited to:

  • Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems
  • Floating Head/Suction Pressure on Refrigeration Rack Systems
  • Compressed Air Systems

Before beginning the application process, talk with a SMECO Business Solutions Representative to determine the eligibility of the proposed project and to establish requirements for detailed savings projections and cost estimates. Beginning April 1, 2018, all incentive payments for Business Solutions program participants will be made electronically or via bill credit.

For Technical Services, please email the completed Technical Services form to business@smeco.coop.

All Custom Applications require sound documentation of the proposed cost and projected electricity usage and savings.
