SMECO Notifications via Text Message (SMS):
SMECO’s text messaging service allows you to pay your bill, report outages, receive power restoration updates, and request outage status updates with your phone.
Start by texting REG (register) to 76326 (SMECO).
To manage your notifications, go to the Notification Preferences page in Account Manager, or use the following commands:

REG Register your text-enabled cell phone for SMECO 24/7 text messages. Each account can have up to five phone numbers.
When you register, you will no longer receive your bill in the mail. You will receive text notifications with a link to view your bill. To receive your paper bill in the mail, text STOP to 76326 (SMECO) then select Paperless. You can manage all your Notification Preferences for e-mail and texts using Account Manager. |
SUB Subscribe to additional text messaging services. Anyone registered prior to November 3, 2016, will need to text SUB for new notification services.

BAL Request the balance for your account.

PAY To pay via text, first set up an online “wallet” using SMECO’s Account Manager or One-Time Bill Payment.

OUT Report an outage for your registered account.
|
STAT Receive an outage status for your registered accounts.
|
PAUSE Temporarily stops notifications.
|
RESUME Cancels PAUSE command; starts notifications again.
|
STOP Cancels all or some SMECO 24/7 notifications.
|
NICK Assign a nickname to your account as a reference for your SMECO 24/7 text message notifications.

HELP Receive a list of text commands for managing SMECO 24/7 text messages.
