Inquiry Procedures

Customer calls are directed to SMECO’s Customer Care Center in Hughesville, where Customer Care Representatives (CCRs) are trained to assist you.

SMECO members may submit a General Information Contact form at any time. Our representatives will respond within one business day. SMECO also has a toll-free phone number; call us at (888) 440-3311.

When making a bill-related inquiry through our website or by phone, please have available the name on the bill of the account in question and the account number. We require this information, or the social security number on the account, to maintain your privacy and to help our representatives assist you in a timely manner.

Offices

The SMECO headquarters in Hughesville and its regional office in Leonardtown are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for holidays.

SMECO maintains an Operations Center that is always staffed. SMECO is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to rapidly respond to power outages and provide dependable customer service.
