SMECO makes customer service a high priority. If you have a question about our services or a non-outage problem with your electric service, use the following General Information Contact form. Please provide complete and thorough information about the issue and how we may contact you. SMECO cannot correct your problem or answer your question if we do not have complete information or a method of contacting you to follow-up on the issue.
Please do not use this form to report outages.
Please do not use this form to request an alternate plan for paying your electric bill.
  • Arrangements for alternate payment plans must be made in person or over the telephone


The SMECO headquarters in Hughesville and its regional office in Leonardtown are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for holidays.
Cooperative offices are closed in observance of:

  • All Federal holidays
  • Good Friday
  • The Friday following Thanksgiving Day

SMECO maintains an Operations Center that is always staffed. SMECO is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to rapidly respond to power outages and provide dependable customer service.
