Our Small Business Solutions Program starts with a no-cost energy analysis and provides incentives up to 80% of the cost of retrofitting existing equipment with energy-efficient technologies.
How It Works
SMECO-approved contractor will perform a no-cost, on-site analysis of your energy use and provide recommendations of ways to improve your business’s energy efficiency.
Incentives Make Upgrades Affordable
Incentives cover up to 80% of costs. On top of that, if your out-of-pocket cost is $500 or more, you have the option of spreading payments over 12 months through a no-interest SMECO Small Business Advance.
Incentives are available for qualifying lighting, refrigeration, and smart thermostat retrofit projects. Thanks to the efficiency of these upgrades and the benefits of incentives, a rapid return on your investment is likely.

Incentives are available to optimize the efficiency of your refrigeration equipment, including walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and refrigeration cases. SMECO’s rebates cover up to 80% of the costs of these refrigeration retrofits. To get started, contact our approved contractor, National Resource Management.
A smart thermostat can dramatically lower your energy usage. For just $69, our participating contractor, MD Smart Energy, will install a Honeywell T6 Pro Thermostat at your facility—a $269 value.
And that’s just the beginning of the savings. Automated settings allow you to reduce your energy usage when the business is unoccupied, so your business can realize savings of up to 10% on your annual heating and cooling costs.* And you’ll be able to control your system from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
