Members have received phone calls from scammers targeting Southern Maryland. Scammers may claim to be with SMECO and demand payment to avoid having your electric service cut off. If you receive a scam call, hang up. Verify your account status in Account Manager or call 1-888-440-3311.

Because of the high temperatures, electricity demand is expected to peak. SMECO will operate its CoolSentry and SmartTemp demand reduction systems today, Thursday, September 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.

PJM is asking consumers to reduce their use of electricity, if health permits, between the hours of 4 a.m. on December 24, 2022, and 10 a.m. on December 25, 2022.
