Notice of Pre-hearing Conference
On May 1, 2024, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SMECO) filed an application with the Maryland Public Service Commission (Commission) for authority to revise its retail rates and charges for electric distribution service and other tariff revisions. SMECO is seeking authority to increase its operating revenues by $37.9 million, which would result in an approximate 10.92 percent overall bill increase for the average customer-member.
A pre-hearing conference will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 1 p.m. The hearing will be held virtually and streamed live for viewing only via the Public Utility Law Judge’s YouTube Channel at https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP. At the pre-hearing conference, petitions for intervention, a procedural schedule, and any other preliminary matters will be discussed.
